LIFX is a WiFi enabled, multi-color, energy
efficient LED light bulb that can be
controlled with your iPhone or Android. LIFX
is very easy to setup, simply replace your
existing bulbs with LIFX smartbulbs,
download and install the free app from the
App Store or Google Play and you're good to
go.
With LIFX you can control your lights from
anywhere,can choose any brightness for a
specific bulb, a room or your whole house,
you can create the colors to match any mood
or decor and you even get Twitter, Facebook
or Texts notifications.With LIFX you can
visualize your music with animated colors
like a dance party.The automatic ON/OFF
feature switch on the lights when you get
home and turns off when you leave. It can
also be set such that you wake up naturally
with an increasing light and drift off to sleep
with slow dimming lights.
LIFX uses a master/slave concept to connect
to your home router via 802.11n wifi
connection and then onto all the other LIFX
smartbulbs via IPV6 802.15.4 mesh
network.Only 1 master bulb is required for a
home or office. It can support any country
electricity systems within 110V to 260V.LIFX
has reduced energy consumption and saves
money and it lasts upto 40,000 hours / 25
years.It also has a security mode when you
are on holidays.You can still use this bulb
with regular mechanical switches.
Currently its a kickstarter project and you
can support them by making a pledge with a
minimum of $65.
